Nursery

In November this year, Harton Village Kindergarten became the first nursery in South Tyneside to complete and be awarded a Quality Counts from the National Day Nurseries Association. Not only was our hard work rewarded with this achievement, but we also managed to achieve a Platinum Quality Accounts award, the highest award possible.

What is Quality Counts?

Quality Counts is a registered certification mark from the NDNA designed to distinguish the nurseries that offer only the very best and most consistent quality childcare.

The NDNA lists some of the benefits of achieving Quality Counts accreditation:

  • Demonstrate better outcomes for children at inspection.
  • Displays your commitment to developing high quality practice for all children.
  • Involving the whole staff team ensuring a consistent approach to quality
  • Demonstrate better outcomes for children at inspection

What does this mean?

Harton Village Kindergarten has joined an exclusive list of providers who have achieved a Quality Counts award, and along with our Outstanding grading from Ofsted, this means parents can be certain that their child will be receiving the best care possible while they attend our setting. The award certifies that the care and learning opportunities we give each and every child at our nursery is consistently of the best possible quality ensuring they have the best start at life that they can.

What they say about us

Children are fully engaged in thier activities, behave extremely well, interact successfully with their friends and know the boundaries. Children are extremely happy and settled throughout the nursery.

Children with special educational needs/disabilities are extremely well supported by a competent and fully inclusive staff team. They go above and beyond their role where staff see the full potential in all children.

The quality of teaching is extremely good. An excellent range of teaching strategies and 'in the moment planning' ensures that activities and resources ignite children's interests.

Staff provide extremely warm, caring, nurturing relationships with all children.
