Welcome to the Harton Village Kindergarten Parents Portal

Here you can find details about how we ensure that the care we provide to your children is of the highest quality so they can grow up to reach their full potential. We will cover areas such as how we use Tapestry, an online learning journal provider, to allow you to be able to share in the experiences your child has been enjoying at Hatrton Village Kindergarten and to create learning links between the nursery and home.

We will also be sharing useful resources and information for parents to help you learn about your child's development and how to encourage them to reach their full potential.

Tapestry Online Learning Journals

Tapestry is about capturing the magic of a child's early years experience, and recording children's learning in a way that is both secure and that we can share with their parents.

By logging on with a secure username and password you will be able to view all of your children’s observations, photographs and even video from their time at Harton Village Kindergarten. You can even receive an email telling you when a new observation or piece of work is available for you to view. This will enable you to follow your child’s individual progress closely and you can reflect upon their achievements with your child. You can add comments so that we as a staff find out about which activities your child really enjoyed and the learning they get up to at home.

Staff will reference your child’s learning to the EYFS profile so you will know which area of learning your child is achieving in and the age-band they were working in for that activity.

All of this information is stored on a highly secure server which is monitored closely and will only be accessible by you and the staff. E-safety is extremely important to us, therefore we ask you to provide us with the following your email address and to sign the agreement to show that you understand and will agree with our guidelines.

At Harton Village Kindergarten all staff follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, which sets the standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 5 years old. The EYFS gives us a set of common principles and commitments to help us ensure that we deliver quality early education and childcare experiences to all children.

Our staff provide a range of resources and plan activities so they can observe children’s learning and development in the seven areas of learning and development set out by the EYFS.
